AUDIO INTERVIEW EXCLUSIVE!

The Legendary Shack Shakers 5/24/08

CLICK HERE to listen to our EXCLUSIVE MP3 AUDIO INTERVIEW WITH LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS FRONTMAN, COL. J.D. WILKES, recorded immediately after the show on 5/24/08.

Although he weighs in at a scant 100 lbs, this skinny Kentucky boy who heads up THE LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS, Col. J.D. Wilkes, put a massive two tons of energy into his performance at The Madison Theater--easily turning the $12 admission fee into one of the absolute best ticket bargains of any show we have ever put on stage.  It is no wonder that people, such as Hank Williams III, see fit to call him ''The best damn front man in America'' while Time Out New York Magazine said The Legendary Shack Shakers were ''Among the top ten live NYC acts of the year''.
On Saturday, May 24, 2008 Col. J.D. Wilkes not only brought his high energy band, but he brought his self-produced movie entitled SEVEN SIGNS, a documentary-style film about life in the south, to The Madison Theater where it was screened prior to the start of the evening's live music festivities.  The film, similar in nature to the P.B.S. documentaries on Appalachia, except with a harder edge, depicts life in the deep south--as seen from Col. J.D. Wilke's own eyes.  The well-received film, which garnered a nice round of applause from the audience upon its completion (and deservedly so) was extremely entertaining to watch.  It was the live performance, however, of THE LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS, that proved to be the highlight of the evening.  Our OFFICIAL MADISON THEATER FANSITE grades have now been tabulated and the band's report card is easily displaying a hard earned A+.  All we can say for this act is one word:  WOW !!!
Following the concert, J.D. sat down with Rick Flynn in what was to become, at sixteen-minutes and thirty seconds, the longest and one of the most eloquently spoken MP3 audio interviews ever offered for presentation here on THE OFFICIAL MADISON THEATER FANSITE.  It was the perfect ending to a night that will not soon be forgotten!

3 PHOTOS ABOVE:  THE LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS, led by Col. J.D. Wilkes, wasted no time in proving that all the hype regarding his exceptional frontman skills is far more than fancy advertising.  In an extremely high-energy performance, where this man does everything except cut his own heart out of his body and let it spill out onto the stage, the $12 ticket price became one of the absolute best price bargains of the entire year at The Madison Theater--as this exceptional high measure of talent is usually found on tickets costing many, many times more!

PHOTO ABOVE:  Immediately following the showing of the motion picture, SEVEN SIGNS, and getting the night off to a great start was THE RUMBLE CLUB.  This rockabilly band, from Northern Kentucky, was the perfect choice to compliment the similar style of the evening's headliners THE LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS.
